How to Build a Nuclear Bomb

And Other Weapons of Mass Destruction

Frank Barnaby
April 2004     ISBN: 1560256036

How to Build a Nuclear Bomb describes in straightforward, lucid detail what is involved when a state or a terrorist group sets out to make a weapon of mass destruction, and what is needed to produce one.

By outlining the parameters of the problem, Barnaby is able to guage the treat that WMD pose, arguing that counterterrorist measures urgently need to be stepped up to meet the challenges of a new era of international terror.

What readers are saying

"Although this is no DIY manual for terrorists, the scenarios in Barnaby's slim volume are truly disturbing. Its essential reading for any aspiring Dr. Strangelove, but perhaps not a book to have in your bag as you pass through airport security."

--The Guardian

"A straightforward and unhysterical guide to some of the more hair-raising nuclear, chemical and biological threats that have dominated the post-September 11th world."

--The Independent

"A sobering read, but an important one."

--Financial Times
