Gandhi, King and the Power of Nonviolence: Alternatives to Force in the 21st Century

Join bestselling writer Jonathan Schell, author of The Seventh Decade: The New Shape of Nuclear Danger, and Pulitzer prize-winner Taylor Branch, author of Parting the Waters: America in the King Years, as they discuss Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr. and the enduring power of nonviolence in our contemporary world. This evening is part of a series that has been organized in collaboration with the Satya Graha Forum to celebrate the Metropolitan Opera's performance of Philip Glass' opera about Mahatma Gandhi and Satyagraha, his movement of social change through nonviolence.

Suzannah Lessard will moderate the evening.

Following the discussion there will be audience questions, and a book-signing.

This event is free of charge (suggested donation $10).
